About Our Staff

Donella Aubuchon, CEO/President
donella@studymt.com

Donella began her career as a registered medical assistant (RMA) in 1986 while attending Wichita State University and studying business management. She entered the field of medical transcription in 1988, and as an entrepreneur quickly built her own successful medical transcription service, MTS of Kansas, LLC. With more than two decades in the medical field and seventeen years in business management and operation, Donella feels she has witnessed firsthand the inefficiencies directly related to the inadequate education of medical transcriptionists. She has spent years teaching, mentoring and interning new graduate students from other programs. Because the industry continues to demand new American transcriptionists and formal educational programs to prepare them, she initiated the development of Advanced MT. After extensive research and development, this complete education-to-vocation training program was launched in November 2008. Advanced MT provides the thorough in-depth educational foundation that Donella believes is vital to the success of a new medical transcriptionist. Relationships with industry service providers and institutes are a definite plus for Advanced MT's graduates as well as optional practicum and job placement opportunities immediately with MTS of Kansas, LLC.

Donella believes in continuing education and supporting the industry's march toward electronic medical records, electronic hospital management, and patient information management. With hands-on direction and years of experience, Donella will continue to set priorities for her students, create the balance they desire between life and work - all while developing quality medical transcriptionists/language specialists.

Donna Hill, Executive Coordinator
donna@studymt.com

Donna Hill brings to Advanced MT over 22 years of experience in the medical transcription industry, with 18 of those years in medical transcription education. Donna's love for medicine and language seemed to be the perfect combination in preparing her for a career in this field. She studied biology/pre-med in the 1970s, but her schooling was interrupted and after subsequent healthcare-related jobs discovered that medical transcription offered so many benefits with regard to lifestyle and entrepreneurial opportunities. In 1990, she began educating and training new MTs after requests by some of the local medical facility managers. She has been able to share the great career opportunity of medical transcription to many individuals over the last 18 years, and some of those former students have now operated their own businesses for over a decade. Donna is continuing her education and completing a degree in Health Sciences with a focus on Health Education. She believes that medical transcriptionists deserve a tremendous respect for the knowledge they possess in both medicine and language, and that a successful educational program must provide a strong foundation in these areas. Donna is very excited about the opportunity to work with the Advanced MT group and provide excellent education, training and opportunity to our students.

After completing an at-home study course, she was employed by MTS of Kansas where she has worked as a medical transcriptionist for over seven years. She transitioned to the role of editor and trainer, and ultimately to a Quality Assessment Manager. She understands the importance of accuracy with regard to medical records and prides herself on staying current on the latest developments in technology and standards of the industry. She is excited to be a part of the Advanced MT team where she can be a vital influence on the next generation of medical transcriptionists.
