At Advanced MT we try to keep things simple!

Advanced MT is dedicated to developing creative educational and marketing strategies to meet the high demand for competent medical language specialists in the coming decades. Our extensive education delivery and service expertise combined with the increasingly high demand for technology-enabled and mobile knowledge careers puts Advanced MT in a unique position to meet the current and future needs of the industry as well as provide solid career opportunities.

While the Advanced MT course is designed to create highly trained medical transcriptionists prepared for immediate job entry, this course also prepares students for the ever-changing demands within the medical transcription industry.

Advanced MT students will be well prepared to work and train in quality assurance and editing jobs as the healthcare industry continues to implement electronic medical records and voice recognition software in some sectors.

Advanced MT "Education for Your Success!"

Advanced MT offers excellent in-depth education and training for the profession of medical language specialist and the practical application of medical transcription. We offer three levels of programs: Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Upon successful completion of our programs, students receive Advanced MT Certificates of Graduation.

Graduating Advanced MT students are offered an optional practicum, oftentimes resulting in a paid internship and even immediate job placement within Advanced MT's sister medical transcription service, MTS of Kansas. The practicum offers students an opportunity to transcribe live patient files under close supervision.

Advanced MT also provides assistance with job prospecting to its graduates.

Advanced MT: Our Mission

Advanced MT: Our Educational/Training Programs

Advanced MT offers Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced medical transcription education through the study of medical theory and practical transcription training. Upon successful completion of the course, our students receive a certificate of completion of the Advanced MT program. (Please see information about professional certification through AHDI at FAQs)

Advanced MT offers approved graduates an optional practicum, oftentimes resulting in a paid internship and even immediate job placement within its sister medical transcription service. The practicum offers graduates an opportunity to transcribe live patient files, experiencing an actual on-the-job experience. In addition, Advanced MT provides help with job prospecting to all of our students, during the course and after graduation. We offer additional opportunities with partnering services and, of course, you are free to pursue any avenue or career opportunity once you graduate.

Prerequisites (Skills & Technology)

Skill and Technology Requirements

Prerequisites:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
College entrance level English, grammar, and spelling skills
Keyboard skills (45+ words per minute)
Computer literacy (ability to navigate file structure, e-mail, and Internet, as well as ability to download and run software programs, etc.)
Ability to confidently use 2 or more software programs (including Microsoft Word)
Technology Requirements:
High-speed Internet connection
Multimedia desktop computer with Windows 98 or higher with sound card, USB ports, headphone jack, and CD drive.
Headset (included in your Advanced MT course)
USB foot pedal (included in your Advanced MT course)
